Out Of The Box (OOB) Rules Update

The IPMS Vancouver Fall Show has for many years followed the IPMS USA National Convention rules to the extent that makes reasonable sense for our smaller show.  This ensures that all attendees can expect our show to be consistent with other IPMS shows and there are no surprises.    

Due to developments in technology, the IPMS USA National Convention recently determined it was necessary to change its Out of the Box (OOB) rules in order to maintain the spirit of the OOB categories.   The issue is the development and growing proliferation of 3D printed decals.  We agree with the decision by IPMS USA and have added the following paragraph to our show rules:

C. Special Categories

     1. Out of the Box

         c)   Decals.  Decals other than those included with the kit may be used.  However, non-kit decals are restricted to only regular 2-dimensional decals, not 3-dimensional products such as 3D printed or resin dot printed detailing products.

Also, please be aware that this change will affect our in-club Big Mouth competitions as they follow our OOB rules.
